Best Student Leaders Of The Month In TUK, January 2022.

The rating of SATUK Student Leaders’ Performance by Nyakwar Otare WordPress is back after along break. This Month, our wordpress lists the Best Student Leaders Of The Month in TUK following their positive contributions in students’ life & for demonstrating outstanding leadership skills.

Best student leaders of the month in TUK are nominated after a thorough study done by Nyakwar Otare in partnership with French Babyy and Karl Ogola(Nabii) after taking into consideration the following: commitment of the student leader to serve students, positive remarks made by students about them, evidence of the achievements they have made, sacrifices they have made for the benefits of the students and finally actions that the student leader has taken to enhance the student welfare.

Below are the faces of the top 12 best student leaders of the month January 2022 in TUK who will remain in the walls of student politics.

1: Boniface Wa Harrison.

He is the SATUK Secretary General. He is ranked as the best student leader of the month, i.e January in TUK. Boniface’s student leadership performance rating is unmatched. He has been able to achieve the following:-

  • As the secretary of the council, he has participated fully in ensuring that the welfare and social being of students is of better standards.
  • He has as well as been vocal in addressing issues outside our campus that affect comrades.
  • Holding of the First Comrades’ dialogue session on 14th January 2022. This was done to reinforce a leadership that is accessible and interactive with the comrades fraternity just like he stated in his campaign manifesto.

2: Fredrick Barasa Oundo.

He is the Academic Secretary of the Students Association of Technical University of Kenya. He was ranked number ten among the top 100 most influential students in the year 2021. He has always been in touch with the students and he has been able to achieve the following:-

  • Clearing all the classreps’ allowance debts that were left behind by the former union in the first 2 months of his tenure.
  • With the help of his colleagues, especially the Secretary General, he has managed to champion for student cards to be made in the University in order to curb the delays that has been witnessed in processing the smart cards.
  • He has managed to minimize the cases of schools not publishing results.

3: Ruth Wangeci Mburu.

She was elected as the Congresslady of the School of Chemical & Material Sciences in the last SATUK elections. For more than the 4 months she has been in the office, Keshi Mburu has been able to achieve the following:-

  • Engaging the department in progressive and academic welfare of SCMS students.
  • Fought for the freedom of students in her school to air their suggestions through the office/department while their identities remain undisclosed .
  • Bargaining for the academic tours.
  • Demanding for early update of results in the students’ portal.

4: Yuvenalis Ogeto.

Yuvenalis Ogeto, commonly known as Pablo. He is the Sports Secretary of the Students Association of Technical University of Kenya (SATUK). He has made outstanding contributions in the sports docket. Pablo has been able to achieve the following:-

  • He made sure Cynthia of Chess Club is facilitated and became the best chess player in Nairobi Region.
  • Football team moving from county level to regional level.
  • Holding Fresher’s Bash.
  • Working on ensuring stability of payment of players.

5: Lukas Muteti (Kisiagi).

Lukas Muteti commonly known by many as Kisiagi is the current SMME Congressman. He’s the chairman of both TUKSA and VATUK. Many TUK comrades see him as the best bet for the position of SATUK Gender Secretary in the 2022/23 SATUK regime, that awaits to be seen. Since elected in the office, Kisiagi has been able to achieve the following:-

* Has lobbied for timely release of teaching timetables and administration of supplementary exams.
* Has setup a fully functional classreps unit in SMME to ensure no units are pushed forward.
* Has revived SMME FC. ( He believes sports is a vital tool in the battle for better mental and physical health).

6: Tony Konyago – Congressman SEEE & also MCA Aspirant 2022 – Land Mawe Ward.

9: Godwin Muriithi- Congressman SSSS.
10: Shampi Anna – SATUK Speaker & Congresslady SISS.
11: Tony Blaire Pire – Congressman SCRE.
12: Lydia Nduta – Congresslady SCBSE.

  1. Congratulations to the top 5. You did not give us the achievements of the bottom list from 6 -12. I want to believe they have none that is why they are categorised as others. With due respect, let them pull up their socks.

    Propaganda in a way though,  we as students have witnessed mass dereliction of their duties and seposition of our affairs.
    Student leadership is no longer what it used to be.
